*Tell Congress! Keep funding—and increase to $35 billion—biomedical research support at the National Institutes of Health for fiscal year 2011.
*Tell Congress! Lessen the disparities in care for people with lupus. Designate $5 million to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Minority Health to continue funding the new lupus education program for healthcare providers.

In January, the Secretary of Health and Human Services sent a major report over to the U.S. Congress.
The report describes the state of lupus research, impact of the disease, and the need for a comprehensive national provider health education program to help eliminate the barriers of racial disparities in early medical diagnosis and treatment of lupus.
