New Research Points to Possibility of Treating Lupus Nephritis without Long-term Steroid Use

A trial conducted in London showed that patients with lupus nephritis were effectively treated while the use of maintenance oral steroids was avoided. Patients with lupus nephritis were treated with two doses of rituximab and methylprednisolone as well as mycophenate mofetil on an ongoing basis. Results were just published in the medical journal called Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases.
