The Lupus Research Institute (LRI) is proud to be recognized as one of the largest private funders of lupus research in a new study conducted by the Rheumatology Research Foundation for the American College of Rheumatology.
The LRI and our founding organization, the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation, have contributed over $20 million to lupus research over four years.
The analysis showed that as funding from the National Institutes of Health has declined, private foundations like the LRI “fill in the gaps to ensure essential research into rheumatic diseases continues.”
With unparalleled documented results, the LRI was formed in 2000 by patients and their families and guided by leading scientists to promote only innovation – the novel research that transforms the lives of those with lupus today and to prevent and cure lupus tomorrow.
