Extra TV Profiles LRI Supporter Nicole Paxson’s Life-Changing Work for Women with Lupus

Motivated by her own struggles, the 25-year-old entrepreneur gives the face of lupus a new look

Nicole Paxson knows firsthand that beauty goes beyond skin-deep. Since age 12, she has coped with severe sun sensitivity, the characteristic lupus red "butterfly rash" across her nose and cheeks, and rounds of chemotherapy to quiet the disease.

Today, Nicole is fighting back by creating a line of cosmetics that helps women—no matter what challenges they've faced—regain confidence in the way they look by concealing redness, scars, and other imperfections. And Extra TV has taken notice, featuring Nicole as a “Lifechanger” on yesterday's show.

Take a look:

Nicole Paxson Cosmetics is a dynamic extention of Nicole’s years of dedication to fighting lupus. In 2007, the LRI’s west coast partner Lupus LA presented Nicole and her mother Marla with its “Women of Achievement” award at the renowned Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon, in recognition of their commitment to funding novel research.

With her new venture, Nicole is furthering her contribution to finding a cure by pledging to donate a percentage of all proceeds to lupus and skin disorder research.

The LRI commends Nicole for work in helping all women with lupus and congratulates her for being recognized as a “Lifechanger.”

“I think it’s important that we all join forces to support the researchers who are fighting for a better understanding of everything lupus encompasses. Hopefully, the support of their research will bring us closer to a cure for this disease that affects so many people.” – Nicole Paxson

Nicole’s unique line includes high-coverage powder, cream and liquid foundation, bronzer, and concealer. Products have a minimum SPF of 15 (powder) to 30 (most foundations) with protection against both UVA and UVB sunlight radiation.
