Jennifer Bell, PhD, Joins LRI as Research Director

New LRI Research Director Dr. Jennifer Bell will work closely with the Institute’s senior management, boards, and advisors to develop LRI research programs and scientific communications.
Dr. Bell has broad knowledge of current biomedical research and its applications, and in-depth understanding in the fields of immunology, infectious, inflammatory diseases, and translational medicine.
As Research Director, she will monitor key developments and new concepts in lupus and biomedical science including basic, clinical, and translational advancements and emerging technologies.
“Jen Bell has been an invaluable research consultant and colleague for several years,” said LRI President Margaret Dowd. “It is a pleasure to now welcome her to the LRI management team.”
The former Executive Editor of the Journal on Experimental Medicine, and founding editor of Nature Reviews Immunology, Dr. Bell holds a PhD in Immunology from the University of Edinburgh.
