NIH's National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities Announces Funding of Three Additional Recovery Act Programs

The NIH's National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NCMHD) has announced that it is accepting applications for funding of three more Recovery Act programs related to health disparities. The awards provide funding to:
- establish an Exploratory NCMHD Center of Excellence
Letters of Intent due June 1, 2009; Application due July 1, 2009
RFA-MD-09-007
- support pre-doctoral students pursuing research career areas relevant to the research mission of the NCMHD, such as minority health and health disparities research, and to simultaneously increase the diversity of this workforce.
Letters of Intent due May 29, 2009; Application due June 30, 2009
RFA-MD-09-008
- support community-based participatory research in planning, implementing, evaluating and disseminating effective interventions for a disease or condition to reduce and eventually eliminate health disparities through partnerships between racial/ethnic minority populations, subpopulations, and other health disparity populations and research investigators.
